Pregnancy after miscarriage can throw anyone into a fit of fear and anxiety. But fear is the opposite of faith and as women of faith, we must find a way to trust God even when our circumstances are scary.
One of the best ways to defeat fear and anxiety is to wield the Sword of the Spirit. Know the Word of God and use it when you need it!
Ephesians 6:17
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
I spent an entire day during my last pregnancy researching and posting verses about fear and anxiety all over my house. So throughout the entire pregnancy, as my husband and I walked around our house, we saw the Truth in every corner. I was encouraged as I wrote them, as I taped them up, during the pregnancy, and continued to be encouraged during my son’s first year of life. We have since had to take them down to sell the home, but I intend to put up a more permanent version sometime soon.
I would highly recommend you try this out! I placed them by the front door, in the restroom, by my night stand, on kitchen cupboards, next to the chair I sit in most often, even on my sock drawer!
Romans 10:17
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing the word of Christ.
We grow in faith as we hear the Word of God. If you take me up on this challenge, I encourage you to read these verses out loud every time you are near one of them. Now I’m no longer constantly stressed out with anxiety throughout the day – rather, I am reading the word of God and building faith!
The most common scripture I found about fear was this:
Be strong and courageous, do not fear or be dismayed.
This phrase was written all over the Old Testament. “Do not fear” is actually written as a command! The only way we can follow that command is by fighting the thoughts in our heads with the Word of God.
Psalm 94:18-19
When I say, “My foot is slipping,”
your unfailing love, Lord, supports me.
When anxiety is great within me,
your consolation brings me joy.
